STRATEGIC DYNAMICS IN ENHANCING PRIVACY PROTECTION WITHIN SMART AGING PLATFORMS

Publicado em: 09/03/2024

In an era where digital innovation meets the burgeoning demands of an aging population, the study titled "A Regulatory Game Analysis of Smart Aging Platforms Considering Privacy Protection" emerges as a pioneering examination of the interplay between technology and eldercare. This exploration is set against the backdrop of increasing reliance on smart aging platforms, designed to offer sophisticated care solutions but simultaneously posing potential risks to the privacy of its users. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the equilibrium strategies within a tripartite system comprising the elderly, platform service providers, and the government. By utilizing evolutionary game theory and Lyapunov stability theory, the study seeks to understand the dynamics governing the willingness of the elderly to engage in regulatory activities, the privacy protection efforts of service providers, and the regulatory interventions of the government.

The study's simulation results indicate that an optimal Evolutionarily Stable Strategy (ESS) can be achieved by adjusting certain parameters. This optimal ESS encompasses the elderly's participation, high-quality privacy protection by service providers, and low investment in supervision by the government. Key factors influencing this equilibrium include the economic incentives for the elderly, the cost implications of privacy protection for service providers, and the government's regulatory policies. Notably, the research found that adjustments in service income for the elderly, the costs associated with privacy protection, and the government's rewards and penalties significantly impact the strategic choices of all parties involved.

The innovative aspect of this research lies in its application of evolutionary game theory to the context of smart aging platforms, offering a novel lens through which to view regulatory and privacy protection strategies. It not only identifies the equilibrium strategies conducive to enhancing privacy protection but also provides a framework for understanding the dynamic interactions between key stakeholders in the ecosystem of smart elderly care.

For future research, it is imperative to delve deeper into the specific mechanisms through which government policies can more effectively incentivize the adoption of high-quality privacy protection measures by platform service providers. Additionally, understanding the role of technological advancements in mitigating privacy risks and the potential for user education to enhance the elderly's participation in regulatory activities warrants further exploration. Given the study's findings, a pivotal question arises: How can regulatory frameworks be optimized to balance the technological benefits of smart aging platforms with the imperative of safeguarding user privacy, thereby fostering a more secure and trustful environment for the elderly?

This study opens up new avenues for enhancing the privacy protection mechanisms within the rapidly evolving landscape of smart aging platforms, highlighting the importance of collaborative regulatory strategies to address the complex challenges at the intersection of technology and eldercare.
